History of Boxing in Pakistan

Pakistan has been participating in Boxing since its birth. The first Boxing Championship on the national level was held in 1948 in Karachi. Since then the Pakistani Boxers have been playing and making progress in slow but steady pace.

Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF)

The governing body of Boxing in our country is Pakistan Boxing Federation which is the member of AIBA   – International Amateur Boxing Federation and also FAAB – Federation of Asian Amateur Boxing. Mr. Doda Khan Bhutto is serving as the President and Mr. Muhammad Akram Khan as the Secretary General of the federation. Two International Boxing tournaments have been conducted by PBF.

Pakistan has been winning many medals in the Asian Boxing championships and Asian Games for decades. The main achievements are as follows:
